Aerial attacks between Israel and Iran continued overnight into Monday, marking a fourth day of strikes following Israel's Friday attack. That surprise strike hit the heart of Iran's nuclear program, killing several nuclear scientists as well as high-ranking military leaders, according to Israeli officials.

The U.S. did not provide any military assistance or have any involvement in Israel's Friday strike, a U.S. official told ABC News. President Donald Trump told ABC News on Sunday, "It's possible we could get involved."

Trump says attack on Iran 'excellent' and says 'more to come'

ABC News' Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl spoke to President Donald Trump on the phone early Friday morning and asked him about the attack on Iran.

"I think it's been excellent," Trump said. "We gave them a chance and they didn't take it. They got hit hard, very hard. They got hit about as hard as you're going to get hit. And there's more to come. A lot more."

When asked if the United States participated in the attack in any way, Trump responded by saying "I don't want to comment on that."

Trump tells Iran to strike deal as Israel launches wave of attacks

President Donald Trump is urging Iranian officials to strike a nuclear deal with the United States, suggesting the drawn-out negotiations between the two sides are what caused Israel to launch a preemptive strike.

"I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to 'just do it,' but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done," Trump claimed in a social media post.

He then issued a stark warning that there will be more destruction if there isn't a deal signed soon.

"There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire," he added.

Israel says Iran has launched 100 drones as air raid sirens blare across country

Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin says that “Iran launched approximately 100 UAVs towards Israeli territory, which we are working to intercept.”

Israel says it is planning to use its air defenses to intercept the drones as air raid sirens can be heard blaring across the country which is under a state of emergency that was imposed overnight.

The state of emergency means nobody one is allowed to be out on the streets and almost all businesses, including schools, offices and supermarkets, have also been shut as the airspace over Israel is closed.
